Chinese New Year

So we had the extreme pleasure to celebrate Chinese New Year here in Peru (there are actually many Chinese Peruvians who offer an interesting food combo called “chifa,” which is essentially spaghetti noodles with soy sauce). Our friend Amy (who is from China and works here with us) was extremely underwhelmed by the local Chinese food interpretations and decided that we should have a Chinese New Year celebration with traditional food and custom. After she searched far and wide and finally found a man with imported Chinese foodstuffs we got to work. My help was enlisted since some foods are only lucky if a man makes them. I was the only man around so I got to work on the rice cakes. The food was amazing, as you can see.
It was a great day and we ate like kings (well queens mostly).
