perhaps it would be in your best interest to set the scene first. jonathan has just left a job working with incarcerated youth for the last two years and emily has gracefully fulfilled her one year contract that employed her for the purpose of planning a large international conference. that being said we have joined the ranks of the other 7,078,000 americans who are unemployed (http://www.bls.gov/cps/). as we are both undergoing a chrysalis so to speak of purpose and direction we have decided to begin this season with an 18 day road trip beginning in our home of chicago, traveling through twelve states in the southwest and returning to my sisters birthday party in the chicago area. our goal is to chronicle our epic journey for the sake of friends, family, interested strangers and the inevitable necessary reflection of our selves. we chose this digital husk out of convenience. we leave in the morning, we still need to buy food. need to record an experimental piece about zach clark. need to pack, clean, finalizing sleeping spots, etc. lots to do. we're looking forward to you sharing this experience with us in a decidedly communal and hopefully not voyeuristic electronic en devour.

Sooo exciting guys!!! We will be praying for your travels and for the discovery of yourselves, for a refreshing of your souls and your marriage. Alec and I always loved a good road-trip as a time to bond together. Some of our best conversations were on the road.

Road trips are great for marriages. Alicia and I took one when we'd almost been married a year, and it was such a great way to get to know each other better and store up some solid memories together. Hope you're both safe and enjoy it!
